Pride Institute Florida 28-Day Program

The Pride Institute Florida Inpatient Program offers a 28-day program. This program is specifically intended for individuals who have demonstrated ongoing difficulty in maintaining sobriety/stability following acute episodes of care or participation in Intensive Outpatient level of care or a combination of both.

The salient features of the 28-day program include those aspects of care provided in the milieu-based program. In addition, patients in this level of care receive:

  • Individual sessions with program therapist three times per week

  • Family sessions with identified support once per week

  • Expanded step assignment to assist with entry/completion of Step 2 and 3

  • Opportunity to experience structured pass with identified supports, with follow up session with member of treatment team to process stressors encountered

  • Increase opportunity and support in connecting with 12-step community and assistance with identification with home group and sponsor

  • During the course of treatment, patients will be offered the opportunity to participate in local sober LGBT events accompanied by either staff or an identified member of the sober LGBT community. These events can include; sober softball games, service opportunities with Roundup, performances by the Gay Men's Chorus, or Lambda Chorale.

  • In the last week of treatment, the client is provided with an outing with a member of the Pride staff (can be of patient's choosing.)  This outing serves as a rite of passage for the client and affords an opportunity for the patient and staff to share on issues of living life clean and sober. Venues for the outing are mutually agreed upon by the patient and selected staff, and can include a day at the beach, visit to Bonnet House, Butterfly World or other appropriate south Florida attraction.

The Pride Institute and Fort Lauderdale Hospital recognizes the importance of nutrition in the recovery process. Patients often come into treatment after significant periods of poor nutritional patterns. As the fog of chemicals wanes and clear thought patterns emerge, the basic need for good food returns.  <Click Here> To See Our Cafeteria Menu
